Layout of the Week and Some New Stuff!

I can't believe I was chosen as layout of the week over at www.oneofakindscrapz.com!! My layout "visit with Dona and Sarah" was the one chosen featuring the Firecracker kit from Bren Boone!

Here's a couple of new things from me....

This layout is about my best "unanswered prayer".

Journaling: Sometimes I thank God.........We tried for many months to get pregnant on our own, and each month I cried and cried to see a negative pregnancy test. Where was that 2nd line?? How could this be so easy for so many people?? As each month passed, and we tried more aggressive procedures, I prayed and prayed for that positive pregnancy test ... so scared that we would have to go through IVF. And if that didn’t work?? What would we do? Would I never get to be a MOMMY? Would I never hold that coveted title. (the ONLY title I ever wanted)? Why was this happening to us?? The month came where we did indeed have to make the decision whether to go through invitro fertilization or not. We bit the bullet, we held hands, and we took a leap of faith. Success! And I realize now as I look into the faces of my beautiful twins, Chase and Abby, that I thank God for unanswered prayers. If it wasn’t for those negative tests, I wouldn’t have the two babies who made my life complete.

I finally got to meet one of my very best friends. Sounds odd, doesn’t it? well, Dona and I have been buds for a LONG time - but over the internet. We met online, and we talk every day. We met up with another online friend, Sarah. We each have a set of boy/girl twins.So - 3 moms;6 toddlers!

A Photo Challenge, News & a New Layout

This is for Nancy Comelab's week #3 challenge. Here is a quote describing what we were asked to do. "Instead of a LO, let’s go out on a limb a bit and look through our pictures and find, you know…the ones that we just took because we wanted to try and capture on film some special little moment to remind us…and if you can, here’s the catch: Try to find one without any people in it…or at least for the subject."

Here's my take on the challenge. I used Nancy Comelab's alpha to add just a touch of color.

My news.... I didn't make Christina Renee's team this month. I was discouraged about it yesterday, but hey - I made a GREAT layout, had a good time and got a freebie! So sounds like I won after all!! LOL! AND - I got RAK'd!!!! What does that mean?? RAK stands for RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS. My friend, fellow cheerleader and teammate for the Amazing Digiscrapping Race, Kristen (Quirky) sent me a $20 gift certificate to Christina's shop!!! WOW! Thanks to everyone who played! First things first.... Christina's first kit was Heritage. Tricky, wasn't it? :) I had lots of fun and creative responses.... and it was hard for my hubby to choose the top five. But finally he got it narrowed down and the randomly drawn winners are..... drumroll, please!!!!!

Well, for one, Christina Renee has AWESOME designs. I am a fairly new digi-scrapper (a few months) and have a small collection of good quality products. She is someone who has very good quality and professionalism in all of her work. I have followed her blog since the beginning and admire her natural talent and beautiful style. I could definitely use more great quality products. I can't wait to get my hands on some of her ribbons and other elements. She is FABULOUS!

Also, I did one of the challenges and didn't win, does that count as a reason? :)

And, I really like you too. You are a fabulous scrapper and I so appreciate you working with Bren on the color challenges to help that busy lady keep them happening! I LOVE them. What an exciting weekend! Recently I applied for three creative teams. I didn't know how things would turn out with any of them, but thought... what the heck!!!!

WELL - I have found out about two of the three. The first one (which I haven't seen an announcement for yet so won't share the designer's name) - I was asked to be a MAY guest CT member. And the second... Weeds and Wildflowers... out of 247 applicants, I was asked to be a guest CT member as well. I am so floored!

Additionally, I am a May guest CT member for Bren Boone over at The Digi Shoppe. I couldn't be more honored to be working with these FANTASTIC designers! I'm going to have a busy month!!!

National Scrapbooking Day is coming up and that means fun, fun, fun!!!

Oh yeah!!! Everyone loves a party...and what could be better than a Scrapping party! I'm sure some of you scrappers already know that this coming weekend is the awesome weekend of May 5th...hmmm and do we know why that date is awesome...NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!!!!!!!! And what could be better than one party day...well DUHHH!!! Two party days are better than one...And The Digi Shoppe is having that very thing...party at the shoppe!!! Not only do you get to have fun and games, prizes, and of course make new friends, you get to see the new digs!!

Now for the details...gotta have details right!!! I'm gonna help host one of those fantabulous challenges with another great fun zany scrapper Quirky!!! So you know you wanna join us!!! Ok, already...you wanna know what the game is huh :) Here is the short description...

Photo Scavenger Hunt: Participants will be given a list of items to photograph (list given out At The Digi Shoppe forum on Saturday. link to come) with a "favorites" theme. (Examples: photograph your favorite pair of jeans, your favorite cd, your favorite comfy item, your favorite place in the house) all items must be photographed and cannot be stock photos off of websites. Then create a layout about their favorite things using those pics!! The person with the most items will win!

Now...what do you get other than an AWESOME layout of your favorite things??

Prize: all participants will earn 50 shoppe points and the winner will receive Prize TBA

Now that is just our little challenge...there are plenty more where you can rack up those points and more prizes...so you GOTTA join in!! Not only that, you get to see the great new format of the forum AND the debut products of the new designers coming to the Shoppe! YAY!

Journaling: "At 15 months, Chase is all boy. By now, he has already bumped his head a gazillion times, smashed his finger and lost the nail, busted his lip..... and the list goes on. several times in his short life we thought he would have a black eye, but he never did. Until now, that is. And we don't even know what happened. He was sitting on Daddy's lap, bent over and came up crying. The bump began to swell, and a little black eye was left the next morning. Ahh.... boys!"
